Thank you!
I'm a photographer, but you probably figured that out since you’re reading my bio. Having retired a few years ago, starting this site just seemed like a very natural thing to do. But, I'm jumping too far ahead, a bit more about me.

My background is in high tech and that’s enough said about that, stick a fork in it, it’s done. Fun when I had the interest but ultimately not very creative or rewarding.  I had always been interested in art, design, and of course, photography.  I took a few courses on those very subjects once I fled the corporate world. I tried to focus on Graphic Design for a while but I kept coming back to the Photography and the power of the still image. Clearly,  I had moved photography past the hobby stage to a vocation, and that’s where it remains today. I still appreciate good design of any ilk but photography is driving the bus today.

I like to shoot anything that catches my eye, really. Sometimes it works, sometimes no, but it always forces me to look at things from a different perspective, seeing something new as opposed to just looking at the same stale view. Taking the Zen focus thing away, my favorite subjects are birds, nature, and, well, anything. I have been known to spend an afternoon shooting ice formations on a frozen stream, whatever presents itself.

Who do I admire ? Who doesn’t look at an Ansel Adams print of Yosemite and feel moved, top of the list to be sure. Others in the field, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Edward Steichen, Art Wolfe, and Galen Rowell. I would also mention Paul Rand, the graphic designer and also the American realist artist Edward Hopper. There are so many others to mention, and of course my fellow Photogs who  are constantly inspiring me.

Once I put the camera down I like to fly fish, kayak, hike and travel. So, thanks for reading, hope to see you in my viewfinder sometime soon.
